Hi . If that was my choice I'd go for the black one( not that I like either colour much) less Km's ( 1/2 the km's) & at this stage $2000 less. Can them fit some of the extras that you miss out on the white one. Just my thoughts.

I am in the market for a newish second hand Landy.
I have my sights on 2 MY09 D3 SE 4.0L petrol vehicles:
One is black exterior with light coloured interior (nice).
35k km ($54k), one lady owner from new, never taken offroad, dealer maintained, selling due to divorce
One is white exterior with greyish looking interior (a bit yaki).
63k km ($56k), Extras include armrest refrigerator unit, electric brakes, electronic antirust inhibitor unit, Navman GPS fully integrated into dashboard, additional rear air-conditioning unit for added strength, boot rubber protector mat, roof racks, carpet floor mats, drop down tv monitor from ceiling
Both Landys can be negotiated down and do not include the stamp duty costs.
The wife and I both like the white exterior but despise the interior on this car. We sort of like the black exterior on the other car, but love the lighter interior colour.
Both cars look like they are well maintained and cared for.
----------------------------
What are your thoughts on both of these cars and the colours (perhaps by personal experience and/or opinons)?
What to look out for when buying these 2009 models second hand?
What am I missing out on by not getting the HSE version for 2009?

My opinion only - but at those prices I'd go for a car that was a year or 2 older still with low kms (60k) in a diesel model. You won't regret the choice of diesel over petrol. Yes you pay a bit more but resale value is also better so you probably win in the end.
Other than that great cars - love mine!!

What is the rear air-con like as standard?
Does electic brakes make a big difference to towing or just normal driving around?
How much would it cost to install these items?
Would the black one be too hot in summer?
What is the standard warranty of these 2009 models from new?
What to look for when buying second hand on these units?
I would like to get the HSE variant, but beyond my budget. What am I missing out by not getting the HSE version?

towing anything over 750 kgs and its a legal requirement,,
and yes, they make a big difference when towing(nill difference when not--)
the colour makes no difference at all when you are inside
how can you even think about the petrol version?
just keep repeating-- 600nm's 600nm's

sure the diesel has more torque, but isnt diesel more expensive?
what do u mean towing anything over 750kg is a legal requirement ? (to have electric brakes?)
I know you like the torquey diesel, but out of these 2 choices I have listed - which one woudl you choose if it was you? (neither is not an option)

There is no way I'd buy a Black 4wd in Aus!
3 reasons:
1 - Yes they build up too much heat inside when parked, it takes the AC a while to overcome this built up heat. ( I had a dark burgandy 4wd and it was terrible in this respect)
2 - They show everything! As soon as you wash it the dust just settles back on it and starts to look dirty very quickly.
3 - If you buy a 4wd for what it's intended for then "Bush Pinstripes" will show oh so easy!
I'm with the others, buy the TDV6! You won't regret it.
But out of the two I'd go for the White one.
Where do you live?
I'd keep shopping around.
I live in Sydney and bought mine from a LR dealer in Perth and had it shipped over. I wanted a HSE TDV6 and it was a great buy.
Be Patient but look everywhere!

						Thanks Rich.
i live in perth, and do not want to buy interstate, so my choice is very limited.
What is the standard warranty on these units from new (km or years)?
WHy is the TDV6 that much better even though the price of diesel fuel is that much more expensive?
What about this TDV6?

I had a 2007 V6 SE 4.0 for 4 years and it was a great car. Those prices you're quoting are way over the top IMHO. I would have thought very low 40's would be more realistic.
