Lightbulb fitting an electric brake controller to a 96 disco

    hi guys,
i need to fit my electric brake controller in my 96 disco, i have been told its easy and should have no problems as i have some limited auto electrical experience, but never have had to hook up the controller itself, does anyone have step by step instructions on how to do this or know where i could find them, its a haymen reese brake controller if that helps,
    cheers

Provided your Disco is ordinary brakes ( ie ordinary 2 wire stop switch) it's easy.

    Look here: http://www.caravansplus.com.au/pdf/hr-5300.pdf

You should have a 20amp circuit breaker in between the battery positive and the controller black wire, white wire is to the battery neg ( not a ground point but all the way to the battery post), red wire is a tap off the stop light wiring and blue goes to the trailer brakes themselves. Depending on the size of the rig, you can run it through the trailer plug or use a separate small anderson plug.
Use 20amp wire and you can't go wrong.
