So, I'm going to have a crack at replacing the power steering pump hopefully tomorrow. I've read the Rave CD, and it all looks fairly straight forward. Are there any tricks or traps for new players?
Or anyone near Castlemaine willing and able to supervise?

If the belt slips while trying to undo the bolts, grab your 15mm spanner and hold some more tension on the belt using the automatic tensioner

SubscriberRanga, In your last post I offered a shed to do the job in and somewhere to camp, we could have got it up here and I could have helped you although I left you my ph no you did not contact me. Still willing to assist in some way.
Lindsay.
yep, although you can also just tie a rope to the chassis and then wrap it counter clockwise around the pully a few times then pull it over the top to the drivers side of the vehicle as you undo the bolts.

Just in the process of replacing my own power steering pump on TD5 D90. Getting the fan off can be awkward if you don't have the land rover special tools......nice to have an uncle who's a toolmaker and fitter. He whipped up a set from some flat bar and steel dowel in about 10 mins. I'll post the appropriate dimensions etc later for use of any who are interested.
