The Land Rover spring specs are on this page. It's actually blocked for me from here, but I seem to remember the rate for the helper springs being 140lb.

Hi all - does anyone know what any of the specs (dia, height, rate etc) are for the factory supplied 130 inner rear springs ?
BTW I have a "wanted" ad for a pair of these in the Markets Section .... if you've taken them out
(just experimenting with the 120)
thanks

I have a pair with the bottom retain plates that we could work something out on, but I am using the top plates to hold polyair mounting blocks in place so to use them you would need to find/fabricate a top retaining plate?
BUT I took them out for a reason.
When lightly loaded (I have a 130 with alloy tray) it rode almost like a hiluxOversprung. When heavy loaded up around GVM they sagged pretty poorly but rode nicely. I pulled them out and put a pair of polyairs in place (OEM 16yo rear main springs unchanged). With no load and minimal air in the polys it rides much nicer and interestingly with 30psi in the polys at GVM plus towing it sags significantly less than with the inner coils and rides better to boot???

I'll try to remember to measure them tonight and post up the info tomorrow.

Hi,
My old ones are,
370 mm long, these are used so this may be shorter than "new".
119 mm in diameter.
9 turns of 11.9 mm wire.
As stated they have their own top and bottom mounting plates.

O.K. Anyone have any idea what ratings a 7" dia. rear Defender spring with 2 orange stripes would be?
You won't find me on: faceplant; Scipe; Infragam; LumpedIn; ShapCnat or Twitting. I'm just not that interesting.
As everyone says, an unladen 130 rides harshly with the inners in. (and the 140lb on JB's site was calculated from my spring measurements a few years ago)
I tare around 3000kg these days and the car drives and rides much better with only the single 330lb/in springs in.
