    td5 exhaust manifold repairs

Well I have had a annoying squeak coming from the manifold for a few weeks now and has got worse since towing my trailer and moving to Sydney from Townsville.

I have a request for the Sydney members, As my house and effects are still moving down from Townsville I do not have all the tools required to drill and tap the head to fit the bigger studs. I am asking if any one in Sydney is able to spare some time and tools, I have all bar a drill, bits or taps. I will provide the beer .

I am currently staying in a Hotel at Casula until we get a house. Any assistance would be much appreciated. My phone number is 0408 202 776 call or text.

    cheers Mark

to get you home I would just take the manifold to a machinest and get it faced and the webbing removed.

Also enlarge holes on port 1 and 5 some also do 2 and 4 as well.

How are you going with this.

I've think I could get the tools over to you if you can return them. I'm on the northern beaches.

    What do you need.

I've also go a spare manofild I was going to sell $100 (which is what I paid)` when I upgraded mine; removed the webbing and enlagred the studs.

    Hi Scott

I haven't done any thing yet. I have got hold of another manifold and larger studs from Davis Performance. They suggested this is the best way of fixing the problem.

I will most likely wait until my stuff arrives, we are still in a hotel and looking for a house. And now the weekend is over every one will be going back to work.

Thanks for the offer mate hopefully see you around the traps.

    Mate no problem.

Note P38arove is closer then me. All the best.

I put in the bigger studs but when I took the vehicle to Ritters in vic (test run NSW to VIC) they said they don't recomend the larger studs as they go very close to a water jacket?

Never heard anyone say this before or since but just a nother view on it.

I didn't elongate the manifold holds just enlarged them and ground out the webbing.

All the best and welcome to Sydney

how far did you get with this.......?
have you done anything to it yet.....?
the required seals and gaskets you will need shouldn't set you back any more than around $40......

i paid a little under that.....the machining of the manifold was the expensive part.......around $80-120.....depending on where you take it.....
i just cut the webbing on mine with a grinder.....

and I'm not too far from you if you need a hand......but just about all my tools are at work.....
i can get you just about every tool you need if your stuck........just let me know......
