    perentie 6x6 brake master cylinder

    Hi Guys and gals,

Does anybody know the part # for the dual master cylinder thats fitted to the 6x6 perente or an upgrade to this beast.

I believe that the bore is 25mm but would like 28-32mm instead.

    Cheers
    Westy

See the Ford people. Take along your old one, as I did the same to mine. They are off a F250 or sumsuch.

    Hi 123rover50,

The trouble is that I dont have one to compare with, I am building this 2b 6x6 from scratch.

I had the same problem as I built mine from scratch too. Except the chassis and axles were factory 6x6.
Mine looks like a 2B and because of the short bonnet you cant fit the booster. I had to make a little bump for the twin MC and fit remote boosters. A single 40 for the front and a 44 for each back axle.

    Hi Ken

I'll have a look at the RPS when I get home (at least I think it's an RPS, but may be a workshop manual).

Just out of interest, how do you plan to fit the master cylinder/booster on your pedal box and still get it to fit behind the front panel?

Are you using disk brakes on the front axle and drums on the rears?

If no I may be able to find the a part number on my LR Special Products Defender 6X6 (disk/drum/drum) when I get home.

You won't find me on: faceplant; Scipe; Infragam; LumpedIn; ShapCnat or Twitting. I'm just not that interesting.

A larger bore will decrease pedal travel but increase the force required (from your foot) for the same pressure at the wheels.

I think the current 6x6 use a ford falcon master from a xf or around that era.

The 4x4 one is similar to a Falcon one, but the early 6x6's definately used a PBR F250 dual diaphragm servo, and the Falcon style m/c won't fit the big booster.

Bearman dug up the 4x4 part number for me once, I should have it here somewhere.
[edit] it's in the link I posted above, as well as the F250 m/cyl numbers.

4X4 uses 1 inch falcon master cyl/booster from XD/XE-the last XF use a design that was made to reduce metal quantity and cheeper to produce.

the same as a commodore except for the tread size on the rear hose.

the Landrover uses a comodore-200B oil reservoir as it sits flat.

6X6 needs more oil capacity for the rear as they use drum brake.
booster is slightly better.a 15/16 bore woulfd fix that[standard 80's commodore] but you might have to pump up the pedal.
