    NAS rear step

Picked up our new 90 on Monday. Me and wife love it despite the foibles. We had just got back from Coolangatta where I saw a white 90 with an NAS rear step/towbar which looked the business. It had a roof rack, LR front nudge bar and I think BFG ATs on it. Wanted to know if the owner is on this forum and whether he got the rear step locally or direct from Extreme4x4 in the UK who are one of the ones supplying it.
Also I have read on this forum that some people are suggesting that a rear locker is not necessary as the LR Traction Control is so good. Really?

PS Drove the 90 straight from the dealer to home where I took it down the steep gully on our property.. It felt unstoppable!

As a fellow 90 owner I have agree with you that the vehicle is awesome and unstoppable! I've now had mine for 2 years and I've never needed a axle diff lock in any situation. They seem to have nailed the traction control, especially in 90's. I've had it twisted and rocking, nose and tail in the air and the TC has operated perfectly.

Should you decide on a diff lock though and you want to keep the TC working as it should (some diff lock fanatics disconnect it!) I would go for one of the brands that are permanently "locked" like Tru-track or the like, they seem to compliment the TC without external input.

Some Td5's were sold over here with the NAS style rear tow arrangement and it might be one of those, but I think the OEM one for the Puma is a better unit. You'll be suprised how reasonally it's priced at the dealer as well!

I thought about getting a NAS step (imported) as a place to attach a rear recovery hook to.

The biggest downside is I am assuming they lack the required Australian specifications if i wanted to use it for towing.

    Hi there,
also got a rear bumper/step as seen on the picture above ... got it directly from my LR-dealer, when I got our Defender Puma. They gave me a very reasonable price and also fixed it without any payment for their work! It's quite convenient and I can recommend it to everybody! Am not sure about towing, though ... only know that it's perfectly fine for European regulations.
    All the Best, Mike
