Replacement 110 roof and doors.

Hi,
I have been think about fixing the rolled 110 I have here and have come to the issue of what to do about the roof and the doors. Both are very bent.

Now I have the skills to make up the moulds and stuff to make new roof (which wouldn't leak) and doors out of fibreglass, however it is a lot of work for just one vehicle. So I wondered if there was much demand for these parts?

I know good county doors are very hard to come by. In the mean time I would be interested if any one knows of a roof or mostly rust free doors for sale.

Well, assuming it'd be legal in Qld. & that you're planning on doing them in one piece I'd be interested in doors & maybe a roof eventually - the 110 doors would fit a S3 109 wouldn't they?
In fact I'd think you'd have a ready market especially in the more rust prone regions of Oz or even the whole planet?

Can't see why not, there are a few places making fibre glass doors for cruisers.

If you make a frame up that goes inside the fibreglass doors, you could then incorporate side impact bars into your design.

I wonder in what price bracket, you could then sell them off at ?

I never thought of it before but 110 doors do fit on a 109 S3. Interesting thought, I really appreciate my wind down windows in the 110 after driving a series in warm weather.

wrinklearthur, I am not sure about the technicalities of how side impact bars work but there isn't a whole lot of space inside the door but some thing to think about.
The cost is something I will investigate further seeing as there is some interest.

I was quoted around $750 for a second hand rear Defender door in reasonable, rust-free condition from two well-known, large Land rover parts suppliers. If you can offer them for less than that I reckon you'll have a market. Interestingly, I discovered that I could buy a new one for not a lot more.
