    I just got one

Hi all, I have had to re-register due to technical faults so I am now Defender mike formaly Disco mike.
We sold the Disco on Friday so its official. We have had the New 90 since the 6th January and have clocked up around 3000ks so far. I am exteremly impressed with its abilty off road especialy in sand. Our only gripe is the fuel capacity, consumption and guage. It uses more than expected the guage is out by 10 litres and it doesnt carry enough fuel for a decent trip. I am looking at long range tanks and have had a quote for around $1090 for a 45L under left side fit it myself at that price. Thats still not enough and would like to hear from anyone if there is a replacement main tank or other options. We are also getting a wind cheeta rack, roof top tent ,bullbar winch, and taking out the rear seat and fitting drawers.I am trying to find some LED spotlights as well.

    Disco Mike still exists

so PM Incisor and ask him to rename Disco Mike to Defender Mike and to reinstate the account.

The pic you have in your post isn't showing for me..

I asked about long range tanks at Opposite Lock yesterday and was told that they only have the extra 45 litre tank that fits under the drivers side door.. it needs a new filler for it though so it's definitely not something that I could fit myself..

oh who am I kidding.. even if it could use the original filler no chance of me fitting it anyways..

I agree though the tanks are too small.. I feel like I am filling up every two days..

I met an Italian gentleman in a caravan park at Marlo, he told me he fit a long range tank in between the rear wheel arches in the boot of his 90, containing abt 210 liters of fuel. And he said it's quite common to do so in Europe.

I came across a lot of defenders in the uk & europe. I've seen it before but I'd stop a long way short of "quite common".

I'm pretty certain it's also illegal in many euro countries.

    tanks

I had the tape measure out this arvo I could easily fit 60 litres on each sill beneath the rear side windows once the seats are out and the drawers are in.There are quite a few rota molded tanks available at 1000x 300x 200 size or near this. I could put it in for a big trip and take out when not needed and they are only around $250. Easily filled through the rear door and vented externaly. Idealy a big replacement tank would be the go maybee with so many new 90's around we may be able to convince a manufacturer to do some R&D and build one. Mike

    Hi Sue ,

Next time you get down low and I mean 50ks past the light and buzzer see how much you can fit in the tank . Mine only takes 49 litres so its out by around 10 litres.
