    ignition off battery light on

    went down the shop and when I pulled up and turned off the ignition battery light came on..!
    earth lead???

    It means there's 12V at the alternator end of the warning light circuit relative to the dash/ignition circuit, likeliest cause is a short circuited diode inside the alternator.

    B+ post was knackered flapping around in the breeze.
    can i just take the opportunity to recommend pjl diesel electric they helped me out when no one else could joys of living in the bush.
    They had the alternator to do the job at a remarkable price of $275 amazing for the pilbara where most retailers assume that you are a cashed up mine contractor,they carry everything from earth straps to led lights, alternators and Hella products, the whole deal.
    The guy who served me Garry was a real nice helpful guy.
