    80" soft top
Sent to Duncan & Phelps dealer in West Wyalong 1/5/1950
    customer Trenerry
    Engine 06106959
    Ign Key MRN9

This 80" has a non-fishplate bumper, narrow front springs, the wide transom with "sprung shovel" seatbacks, 5" Butler headlamps behind the grill panel and yellow button freewheel unit transfer box.

If fitted the hoodbows should have the curved top.

You won't find me on: faceplant; Scipe; Infragam; LumpedIn; ShapCnat or Twitting. I'm just not that interesting.

    Hi Mick

Your 80" differs from Loui's 80 in that your 1950 model was built in 1949 while Loui's is a 1950 build.

Also other differences, your vehicle is a ring pull freewheel unit, bakelite hand brake handle, flat top hoodbows and fishplate chassis/bumper.

    Diana

BTW: Louis, if the second car doesn't have an ID, then you should be able to find the chassis number on the flat top of the LHS engine mount on the chassis. There may be two numbers but we need the long one.

You can try Anthony Pearson, Classic and Vintage Bulbs in Adelaide for the Butler headlamps.

For a reasonable alternative you can use tractor headlamp reproductions for the grey Fergy TE20 tractors They were fitted with the same Butler lamps, but make sure that you get hi-low beam types. Otherwise you can fit 5" H4 or sealed beam inserts into the butler style housing.

    Hi Louis

Unfortunately that is not a NSW vehicle so we don't have date and customer details, using close NSW vehicles it is likely the vehicle was sold late June or during July 1950.

Interestingly with all the changes that happened during the 80" models, the two vehicles you have acquired should have exactly the same specifications in all areas. Not many 80" restorers have that benefit, usually having a number of differences between vehicles.
