    higher tow bar required

    hello Together,

just received our camper trailer and the standard tow bar bottomed out
after going over a small log (not in off road height admittedly) but looking at it, it's so damn low that I wonder what LR engineers though when designing it.

I know there are some alternatives but can find them anywhere in the forum (did a couple of searches for higher towbar, alternative towbar etc)

Does someone know a good way to have a tow bar fitted with more ground clearance?

    Thanks a lot

    Steve

As an interim, have you tried inverting your tounge to get a bit more height?

Yes, but apart from speaking funny it hasn't raised the height of the tow hitch at all

You could also have a look at a 'rapid' hitch which is fully adjustable or one of the adjustable Hayman Reece hitches. Both are cheaper alternatives to changing over to a Mitchell Bros hitch, just depends which one suits best.

I've just converted to the Mitch Hitch and now have a surplus Hayman Reece height adjustable tongue if you want to save some $$. PM me if you're interested...

bought the Mitchell Brothers hitch should arrive next week, I increased the height with a extender from repco but my issue is the ground clearance and that is not solved by it.

so hope the Mitchell B will do the trick
