DEFENDER WHEELS/ MATCHING STUD PATTERNS?

I have a 95 defender 110. It's still got the original pizza cutter rims. Its time for them to be replaced with wider rims, As we all no, defender mags are not cheap or easy to find. Anyone no if there are wheels from other makes or models that match my stud pattern and offset.

I'm happy with my steel disco rims, not the bling of the alloys but at $50 a rim they look much better than defender steelies

Yep, as weeds says - disco steels (or disco alloys if you must have alloys)

(you'll need new wheel nuts as well with alloys)

RRC's and Disco 1's have the same pattern, not sure about offset.

If you keep an eye on the market here you can pick up new deefer rims for a good price - I picked up a set of 5 with new rubber for $750 - I thought that was pretty good!

I went down the D1 path, but by the time I had the offset redone and got them powder coated I could have got ZU alloys - If I had thought harder about it that is what I would have done.

Grab yourself a copy of one of the UK based LR magazines, they always have wheels advertised in them - even with shipping they are usually cheaper than locally sourced items.

Oh, but you WONT be able to fit D2, P38a or RRS wheels.

IME D1 steel wheels have a slightly different offset (or to put it another way, unmodified the tyre centrs would give a slightly narrower wheel track) than Deefer steel wheels - it is a minimal amount. I've always just used them as they come with no probs.

The Disco 1 steelies are a 7" rim with a positive offset, 130 rims are 6 1/2" early ones with a neutral offset and the later/current ones a positive offset.

Defender 110 and 90 rims are 6" with a positive offset although early 110 Counties had a 5 1/2" rim.

I wanted a larger offset. I went with the rim 20mm further out, allowing me to fit 255/85 tyres without any rubbing on full lock and articulation, and also retaining the original flares.

Same offset for D1, RRC, Defender 90 and 110. All 33mm as stamped on the rim - as has been covered many times before.

Thanks for your replys everyone, I am keen to find the widest rims/tread that I can bolt straight on without any interference and without doing any other mods, steel rims are preferred and bling is not a concern ( no point going for bling when my 110 only gets washed when it rains) . However if I found a set of big treads for a crazy cheap price I would probably buy them and do the necessary mods next, as the wider the better when driving in snow, which I am doing alot including today.
