Congrats LR09WA. What a great decision you have made.
You will wonder why you didn't make the move earlier.
I am approaching 110,000Klm's in my D4 SE and still enjoy driving it every day.
Cheers, Craig
Hi All,
So after much thought and the feeling I'm selling the family dog.
I maybe taking my pampered 110 puma into trade in for a D4 3SE tomorrow, the time has come for a little more luxury and safety for the family.
So I hope to put my name down on a black and black basic SE with satnav.
I've been looking at add-ons all morning with the list getting longer and longer, I will be purchasing the below from duckworths, unless people know somewhere cheeper ?
- Front lamp guards
- Rear lamp guards
- Raised air intake
- Tow bar
- Underbody protection
- Rear load mat
-Stainless steel trim for the back bumper
And these from site sponsors
- GOE rims with BF all terrain tyres
- Llams
Feel free to comment on anything else you think I would need ?
Also keep a eye out on the markets for a pampered 110 defender.
Regards
LR09WA

						Hi LR09WA,
Great move on the D4 purchase. I use Duckworth and have found the service excellent.
The tow hitch will need to be purchased locally as the connection is different in the UK. Rather than the LR RAI have you considered a Safari snorkel? There are a number of options for underbody protection such as GOE (WA) and GNVP (UK). I'm not sure if rock sliders / steps were part of your underbody protection plan but they are a useful addition. Did you have any plans for front end protection (ARB or OL for example)? I would recommend a Traxide dual battery and LLams. 18 inch rims are good but the 19 inch rims aren't completely useless. (I run 19's with GG AT). It depends how extreme you intend to be.
Enjoy the build process.
Regards Trif.
Dual battery system from "Traxide" - great bit of kit.
cheers
Sell your trade privately and make a few dollars.

1976 Jaguar XJ12C
1973 Haflinger AP700
1971 Jaguar V12 E-Type Series 3 Roadster
1957 Series 1 88"
1957 Series 1 88" Station Wagon
Rear wheel carrier and then a long range tank ??? depends on your intended use of the vehicle of course.
Roof rack ... ???
Bull bar ???
It's "horses for courses" and as I said above it all depends on what you intend doing with the car.
Good luck with your build ...... and I'd second Garrcol's comment - sell your Puma privately and have a nice little stash to spend on your "extras".
cheers
+1 for selling privately. I sold a Subaru to get the D4 and made an extra $8k over what the trade in was going to be.

If you have the time (and inclination) go for the private sale - we were offered $9k as a trade in for my wifes Honda (on a new Honda) so we sold it privately and got $14k for it- took two weeks on Carsales ... well worth the time.
cheers
Thanks Gents,
Makes me feel a little better in my decision, I still feel like I've just sold the family labrador!!
So the dead has been done, Black on Black SDV6 SE, with tech pack, front park assist, xeon head lights, hi line audio and tow pack, delivery date middle of November.
This will give me some time to sell the puma as a set date sale, whoever has the best offer, over the dealer offer trade-in price gets the car, someone's going to get a good deal !
Now back to my updated add-on list.
- LR front and rear lamp guards
- LR RAI
- LR Front bash plate
- LR front and rear mud flaps
- LR SS boot strip
- Traxide dual battery
- GOE rims with BF All terrains (will this combo fit under the back as a spare?)
- Llams
- And maybe some sill protection
And thats about all the trouble and strife will allow for now !!
Regards
