OK,
I understand your point of view. Yes it can be frustrating.
Now from my side, when you work on these things everyday, you get to learn how things fail & there cause.
The reason for changing the compressor, relay & fuse? Is because the compressor fails internally, fuse blows because the circuit gets hot, a relay getting hot means its life span has just decreased by X (how long is X you ask?) I can't tell you! I don't know, would you rather spend $30 on a part now. Rather than having to come back the next day to then have it replaced?
Hopefully the service advisor has explained that to you.

					 so I know that the compressor was functioning well until this time. Never overheated, never slow. Now "dead". Took in for service this morning and listed a few things I wanted assessed for their opinion.
