Possible new Defender owner needs help (Melb)

    G'day All,
I had a message from a guy looking at buying a new Defender. It sounds like he's really keen, but he's 6'4" and is somewhat put off by the lack of leg room.
He's hoping there's a Defender owner in Melbourne who has extended seat rails fitted and is willing to let him sit in your car to try it for size.
He's in the Werribee area, but is willing to travel anywhere in Melbourne for a test fit.
It would be a shame to see a prospective new Defender owner turned away because of needing a simple modification to the seating.

If anyone can help please let me know and I'll pass on the info. PM me a phone number and suburb if you like (strictly confidential).

    Cheers, Murray

Send him down to me Murray, I,ve got Home made seat rails. It was the first job I did after driving my Defender home from Sydney when I bought it.

I'm more than happy with the leg room now.

Plus I got rid of the hard Interior door handle and put a flexible soft one from 'mudstuff.co.uk'.

Just down the road from Werribee in Lara.

for less than the cost of driving all over melbourne......he could probably order a set of rails and fit them to yours for a quick test......

then he can take them back out and fit them to his newly purchased defender......cos im pretty sure he will be sold......

    Thanks Col,
I've given him the details of another member, but I'll certainly let him know he can pop down to Lara for a squiz if he's still looking.

    *Uninformed person puts hand up*

Extended seat rails on a new Defender? what is this I hear?! Please explain! I find the Defender just a little bit "cramped" but doable (because it's about Defendering not comfort!) Does someone have photos/ a link to these???????

interesting. How does that affect seat height and room in the rear of a 90?

No impact on the rear passengers as you have a body reinforcement bar behind the front seats anyway.
It will lift the seat about 10-15 mm.
