    tdci brake vacuum pump, help

I fitted a new brake vacuum pump and gasket on my tdci and I'm getting a slight oil leak between the water pump and brake vacuum pump.

It doesn't say in the workshop manual to use gasket sealer...the drip eventually hits something and splatters in the pattern associated with brake vacuum pump failure.

The pump is a brand new one and was manufactured only two weeks ago so I highly doubt it is defective.

The gasket is an original land rover part and is also new.

Any thoughts? Gasket sealer? Defective gasket? Defective pump?

anyone? Looks like I'm ordering another gasket and buying some sealant first.

perhaps the date your looking at is the "use by" date
