    86" Rear View Mirrors

    Next issue before rego...
I'm trying to sort out some rear view mirrors on Len the 86". When I acquired it, it had a central rear view mirror at the top of the windscreen, mounted through the roof of a custom truck-cab style hard top. I intend to run it as a soft top. I have seen photos of soft top 86"s that appear to have a mirror mounted on the top of the windscreen. Can anyone show me some pics of how they were mounted? Mine was originally a soft top and does not have any holes to show how a mirror might have been previously mounted there.

Also, I take it that the standad fitment for side mirrors was on the wing top. I also note from comments on here that they vibrate madly and are generally useless. I would like to try to mount a side mirror on the upper bulkhead or windscreen frame. My vehicle has two holes in the upper section of the windscreen frame and I have noted them on several pics on the web etc. Any idea what these holes were used for? I don't intend to run with door tops. If I do, then I can mount a mirror to the door top frame where there are holes from having one there previously. Anyone got any pics of how they mounted a mirror near the windscreen frame/upper bulkhead?

    Cheers,

    push bike mirrors

Go to EPAY and look for kids push bike mirrors, the type that you see on the handlebars of kids bikes .

They are cheap and come in various styles , and you can mount them on the W/screen pillars

Those holes were for the trafficators mounting screws.

    Hi Chris,

I had the same problem on my 80" & decided on a cheap stick on mirror in the end, which has been there nearly 2 years now & only dropped off once.

The 107" came with wing mirrors & a bolted on interior mirror:

This one fell through the wing just after I picked him up, hence the riveted plate underneath & extra support washers. Good for reversing but not much else.

Interior mirror - no use for your soft top

Another mirror I attached to the drivers door. Just secures with allen head grub screws. This and the interior mirror are the most useful.

    Cheers

You don't in WA, but sure helps when you have to go down major highways at 70 KPH when everyone else wants to go 110 KPH, at least if you can see them coming you can get out of their way.
