    Spanner Size & Towbar

After fitting a tow bar to my new Puma 90 (fitted perfectly...I love the Meccano aspect of this car) would it be safe to assume all nuts and bolts are metric? I want to put together a basic travelling tool roll.

Tow bar question........is it an issue coupling and uncoupling trailer off the ball there doesn't seem to be a lot of clearance between ball and underside of spare tire. Unfortunatly trailer is elsewhere at present to test, however its a boat trailer with winch post so coupling with door open fully won't be an option.

    Cheers paul

    Paul,

With the 50mm insert setup you can attach pretty much anything you like. I found the "normal" straight ot ball attachment too high under the spare as you suggested and I"ve bought one with about a 75mm crank at 45 degrees which takes it down and slightly further back.

The most common spanner around the tow bar is your good old 17mm. You need one for the safety bolt to change the 50mm inserts in any case (50mm ball, recovery hitch, bike rack, camp table etc).

90% of a Puma can be stripped with a 17mm, 13mm and a 10mm (2 of each as not everything has captice nuts - alternative socket and flat in each size). The seats are a pain as they've got the strange ones that have smaller heads than the thread would suggest, but you don't go about messing with them on the way in any case.

Couple of vice grips (optional, but invaluable if you are on your own as you often can't turn and hold both the bolt and nut), two sizes of phillips, 2 sizes of flat, sharp nose pliers and normal pliers and you should be set. Obviously this is not a tool box, but just that "odd occasion" tool roll...

I don't use my LR wheel brace either. I have a decent quality 1/2" bar with a 27mm socket for the alloy wheel nuts.

    Cheers,

    Lou
