    LT230

    While fitting the Quaife TBD I did a few other mods .As well as the oil mods as posted by Bush 65 I bored the rear output housing 6 mm deeper and fitted a double row bearing and shortened the spacer between the speedo gear and
    bearing.

    Next was the notorius intermediate gear leak the shaft was set up located in a
    unworn section and centre determined the case then bored to 1.400" with a recess for a flange,A bush of 4140 was turned up and pressed in with a bit of
    gasket eliminator round the flange.the bush then finished to size [.The collapsible spacer more suitable for a dunny roll than a TC] The inter gear was set up on the shaft with old trued up spacer the end float measured and a
    solid 4140 solid spacer turned up with allowance for preload

    nice work. for info, the later cases, TD5 onwards dont have the collapsible spacer, they have a solid spacer like yours

    I did not know Do they supply different spacers ?or hopefully don`t use shims setting preload is a breeze on the bench I suspect the collapsible spacer contributes to case wear

    I agree re the case wear. yes there are different sizes available as far as I know.

    Next the front output flange was replaced with a 9"ford yoke same spline about 20 mm the area with no spline turned off and a mud shield fitted
    The yoke uses the larger Landy universal 1310 series or a 1350 series could
    be used for more articulation or HP

    Thanks for the interest fellas makes writing it up worthwhile .A bit more. A
    disk park brake was bought and fitted with a small mod .Mounted to the back
    of the flange instead off the front brings it closer to the case about 20mm.
    The modded 1350 yoke was then thru bolted and a special nut machined.
    Pictures show custom PTO hydraulic pump Finned extended sump and disc brake with drive flange. Just separate levers for HY--LOW Diff lock and PTO
    to be done
