    Rear springs, Front bolt

Do I really have to remove the fuel tanks?

    What's involved with that?

Do I have to remove it completely or can I move it out of the way with the lines still attached?

    :'(

    Tears over, challenge accepted :-)

Unfortunately you have to drop the tank(s).
Disconnect fuel line(s), disconnect sender, unclamp filler and breather hoses, undo bolts & lower on a trolley jack.

I did my SIII recently and considered putting the bolt in the other way round. When I looked at the tank there was a depression where someone had done this in the past and it rubbed against the tank.
If you put a dent in the right spot you might be able to fit the bolt the other way round when you re-fit the tank (but that doesn't help you at the moment).

    best of luck.

    Thanks mate

When I saw it this morning I considered that I spin the bolts about but as you've stated, they will hit the tanks.

At least I've got a disconnected one to practice on first
