Recently one BiXenon low beam / high beam light stopped working. (D3 TDV6 2006, 140,000 km, driven with the headlights on at all times for the duration that I have owned the car, which is for 90,000 km). Initially, it would flicker on start-up. Subsequently, failed altogether.
The very helpful local auto-parts supplier did not have any bulbs in stock, but was perfectly willing to order them in at $349 each!
I did not check the OEM price at Land Rover. Perhaps I might have been pleasantly surprised.
I purchased a pair of replacement bulbs via the www from what is apparently an Australian supplier for $67, delivered.
They were described as:
Philips HID Xenon D2S 4300K replacement bulbs (1 pair).
Installation took about 10 minutes. No need to remove the headlight. The light now works and produces the correct temperature light.
Cheers Baz.

Note that the D4 bi-xenon globes are not the same as the D3's.

D4 Bi-xenon bulb listed as Type D3S in bulb specification section of the handbook, P94 in mine. I knew I'd seen that it was different to the D3 but had to check to know just what it is.

Mine also list it as D3S; quite interesting to see there are higher output D3S, and the debate between Philips and Osram.
Well, this is sort of good news. I hit a small roo on the Nullabor last week and it took out the plastic cover and the low beam globe. Everything else is good on the unit. I thought it would be a whole new unit. Maybe it will if the plastic "glass" is gone too.
