    Cleaning Leather Interior

    Hi guys,
I've used a few different leather cleaners and conditioners on my Alpaca interior.
All quality brands and all required a fair bit of elbow grease to remove any grime or marks from them.

I use "Magic Erasers" Chux® - CHUX® Magic Eraser Range for cleaning marks off melamine cabinetry in my work.
They work really well for this so I searched the net for any info on if they can be used on Leather seats and found so many forums topics in both car clubs and detailing forums all over the world and it seems everybody loves them. They do say not to use them too often or concentrate on a spot as this can remove the coating or colour but you would have to be really trying to do such damage. Just something to keep in mind while using them.

I could not believe how well they cleaned my seats! You use them with warm water and the water in the bucket turned brown pretty quickly. I did not have to rub them to get great result. Here is another forum topic on them: Mr. Clean Magic Eraser is Awesome! - Land Rover Forums - Land Rover Enthusiast Forum

You can purchase them in Woolies for $5.26 for 2 or on eBay I bought 50 of them for the same price delivered from China!

I will still apply conditioner after cleaning.
Great for cleaning your door trims where your arm makes it dirty and the steering wheel too.

    Cheers Rich.

I was only looking at my grubby driver's seat today and thought it needed a good clean.

    Hi Rich,

What conditioner do you use on your seats?

I have only used one American brand on a previous car which left the seats shiny and slippery, I like the texture and finish of the leather in my D4 and don't want to spoil it!
    Cheers,
    Talby.

Is what I've been using, it does give the 'new' leather chemical smell though.

I'm looking to clean and then condition my leather seats and will get some of this magic eraser stuff.
Re conditioning I've been reading some reviews on a product from the US called Leather Only. Not sure if you can get it here or have to ship it in. Though it is an all in one, which some may say is compromise and not as good as a 2 stage clean, and then condition/protect.

    Anyone any recommendations on conditioners?

An excellent leather cleaner/conditioner is the Jag leather kit. Basically is softens & rejuvenates the leather.

It it also surprisingly cheap @ about $20.00 from your dealer.

    Cheers

Is this the same as the bottle of leather stuff you get with the car?

leather an't leather but it is.

The leather is shaved IE 1 hide is split into 2-3or 5. then it is coated with resin and pressed to create a shinny side.
    Lastly it is painted.

so in reality you are cleaning the paint. which is really thin.

Liquid dynamo, table spoon to a cup of water.

conditioning them forget it. if you have any cracks in the paint use mum’s hand cream
