I find it funny that the merc 'butterbox' is able to stay in production
until at least 2019 with views to continue BUT the defender "has to" stopbecause of pedestrian safety laws etc...

Could not agree more. But at least these pimped out versions are keeping the production line rolling. There are still a few parts shared on my 25 YO very-basic G (shown here on Big Red last week)

Glad to be of service. And our "pimped out" version was still plenty capable of getting up to the property last week-end even on highway tyres (Just ignore the Pajero there). Like the Defender it has the added advantage of being nice and narrow so I wasn't the one needing to continually get out and break off scratchy twigs.

I think a G350 is quite different. Practical, purposeful luxury.
