    Kevin's 55 86" Series 1

After I bought my Series 1 back in June, my mate Kevin bought 2 Series 1's, a 1955 86" & ??year 107, both looked pretty sad n forlorn sitting under some trees up near Walcha NSW. The previous owner thought they were worth more than usual but a deal was struck (at a lot less than originally proposed) and they were transported back to the Hunter Valley ( location NFP as I don't live there) anyway here are a couple of images of the 86"

probably the first time in more than 30+ years since it has spent any time under cover, here is a short clip of the engine running, so sweet no smoke no rattles etc

unbelievable, this is the engine bay, you can see it has some serious rust issues which will be overcome soon

here are a couple of images of the 107 that will be used for ?? some parts if needed, the poor old things have been sadly neglected for many a year

anyway that was part of my day, I went to Kevin's location to measure from the top of the gal/strip on the transome panel to the seatbox, I now have that measurement anyway cheers Dennis

You need to learn how to put in the actual pics in your post - on the relavant photobucket page just click on the Img line to the right and paste that into the post.

Well I had been up north a few times, this time I went with my mate Kevin in his 110 ute, we were armed with a 3KVA gen set and all manner of tools that I thought we would need to complete the job, I had a lsit of things that I wanted/needed and were collected, then it was over to Kevin for his shopping list, and a bulkhead was high on his list + mudguards and this n that n more of this n that

we had to use the angle grinder on the wing bolts as they would not undo past 1/2 way, somewhere in it's distant past it has had longer bolts put in place, no damage to the guards, and a short while later it looked like this

and after we had a bite to eat, and some judicious use of the angle grinder I was able to remove the B/head,

Kevin couldn't help me as he had just had a operation and was not permitted to lift anything really heavy
    http://i659.photobucket.com/albums/u...ps01b47207.jpg
on the first attempt to separate the B/head from the windscreen I couldn't move it at all, so I tried a lever and still no movement, we discovered that the windscreen pivots had been welded to the pivot on the B/head,

the angle grinder made short work of that

    and the B/head was off

then it was load it all up and head off home, anyway that's been part of my last few days, cheers Dennis
