Diff locks for Series 1 axles?

Anyone have positive or negative advise for installing/or not too, diff locks in the series 1 axels?

 Can it be done?
Can the originals take it still using the original 2.0l engine?

A diff lock will fit, but not sure which brands though.

The 3.5 Range Rover centers can be used with a spacer ring to correct the difference between the wider 3.5 pinion and the narrower 4.7 pinion.

The only thing you should be aware of is that using a diff lock on a sidling could cause the narrower series one to fall over sideways.
In the case of a unlocked center, the topside wheels can spin thus preventing any further forward motion.

I have learnt this from driving farm tractors that have had a diff lock fitted.
It's a scary ride down a hill on a tractor that has broken traction on lush grass with a trailer attached on behind, pushing the tractor and being unable to release the diff lock to be able to get any steering back to have the front wheels to take hold.
