Maybe the good old "Nut loose on rear output shaft " LT95 problem.
The speedo drive worm is only held in place by the friction of a tight nut.

Hi all,
My One Ten's speedo no longer registers.
So far I have tested the cable by chucking a cordless drill on the gearbox end, no problem with a broken cable or disconnected at the gauge, can easily make 35km/h without the engine running!
I have squished the cable end slightly till it was a very tight fit in the square drive socket.
The blue plastic drive gear is not stripped of teeth, it has good oral hygeine, no teeth at all are missing.
When the speedo drive is mounted in the box, rocking the handbrake drum shows the square socket rocking too.
Is there anything I have missed?
I don't trust the fuel gauge so rely on the odo to know how much fuel I have left

Haha so very nearly correct Philip, and thanks for your suggestion.
Turns out that a few days ago the output shaft, that my County had hungrily been munching away at, was swapped with a much better Rangie one, but the worm wasn't kept with the correct box-hence the worm isn't engaging on the plastic gear at all.

Lets just say that the winch is not on still, there was too much else that needed fairly urgent attention and dollars. I'm not at all happy about the incredibly expensive rebuild that KLR did just 50,000km ago that requires a lot more rebuilding now.
Just buy a press and puller kit and get on with it Mark.
