    spare wheel under rear

My spare wheel was in the back of vehicle and the chain in stowage locker. This might seem like a silly question but how do you get the chain onto the winder under rear of vehicle and also which way around does the spare wheel face?

Hi, lay spare wheel on ground so you can see the face that faces out not the side that sits against the hub - if that makes sense, anyway when you wind it up you'll work it out as the other way round it will not balance and fall to one side or the other.

cant help with how the chain attaches but should be simple

    hope this helps

The chain just feeds through - you might need a new hoist though, the mating surfaces wear out. I would guess that's why the chain has been removed and the spare is in the back. Turned out that was why mine didn't have a spare!

got it sorted- ended up tying some thin nylon rope to the end of chain and feeding thru the winder mechanism and pulled it thru whilst turning the winder. Much happier having spare out of the way.
