    Zenith Carby Floats

I have just had the carby on my Haflinger refurbished at considerable expense. It is a Zenith 32NDIX and replaces a non original Solex 34PCI that was on the vehicle.

On starting the engine ran Ok bit soon was flooded and strangled but ran OK when with the fuel pump off.

On taking the top off the carby the bowls were full and when I removed the floats they were full of petrol - clearly not doing their job. The floats are plastic in two shells that are glued together - the glue had broken down and indeed the floats fell apart in my hand. I was somewhat surprised at this as carb had just been rebuild - however floats do not come in the kits so I assume the builder just put the old floats back in assuming they were OK.

As the builder is a bit far away I would like to simply reglue and reseal the floats. So does anyone know what the correct glue is for these floats - obviously needs to be a plastic glue/sealer that is also petrol proof.

    Thanks

    Garry
