NEW WIPER BLADES, AM I GETTING FLEECED?

Went to LR dealer near my work in Pt Melb to get new wiper blades for my 2009 RRS and was quoted $130 a pair. That's 2 strips of rubber and plastic.

Is this the norm or are they trying to steal from me. When I told him I bought the same for my D3 from them a few years ago and thought the cost about $70, which seemed high them he shrugged his shoulders and repeated the $130 cost for them now.

What's a good alternative, this cost seems extraordinary.

Praying it doesn't rain for a while.

Go to the Bosch site. Can't remember how much but much less than that.
They deliver in a few days and it takes 5 minutes to put them on.

Supercheap and Repco have Trico and Bosch alternatives for about $35.

I bought 2 sets of Bosch BA550 last Friday for about $24 each plus about $8 delivery. They were delivered on Monday.

One set for my wife's XR6 and one for my D4. They're the best wipers I've had on a D3/D4. I drove into Sydney yesterday and really enjoyed the clear screen and silent action during the drizzle.

Source was Advanced Search @ GetCarBitz - Australia's Online New Car Parts Web Site

(Just a happy customer, blah blah!)

    Cheers,

When my D4 goes in to the dealers for a service (as it did a week ago) - I make a point of telling them "DON'T replace the wiper blades".

    Plenty of cheaper options available.

Surely the D3 & D4 have the same wipers, anyway I paid $32 for drivers side from super heap in Alice springs a week ago, and why did I buy just 1 because I thought from the size of the box it was in there was 2 inside.

    Thumbs down Wiper Disco 4

When my Disc 4 had its first service in September 13 they told me there where no wiper blades available for it and they could only replace the whole wiper blade assembly at $140 each and that was after they did it when I quiried the cost of over $300 !!! Very disappointed as yesterday it also had it 52 000 k service and they now tell me the rear brake pads need replacing and that it is at a cost of $740 which includes Rotors as well as pads as Landrover does not allow new pads with out new rotors !!! I also have a Toyota that is 30 years old and has never had the front rotors replaced or machined and has had 4 or 5 sets of pads - I am seriously thinking of making a complaint to the ACA as it sounds like just loading up to rip off or very inadequate product from new !

Reason from dealer - they are such high quality they wear out faster !!!
