    I bought a Defender

    Hi,

I can't believe it but instead of a D4 we bought the opposite a Defender 2006 TD5 with only 55k on the clock.

The previous owner spent a lot of money on the car and it was to good of a chance to let it slip past.

I'm sure I will have a few questions soon.

    Cheers

    Steve

I'm looking forward to seeing it in action! Suppose you aren't going to buy a Perentie now? There should be another auction announced in a few days time, or maybe next week.

2-3" lift and aftermarket mudguard flares will get the 35s to fit well
33s are a good compromise though, particularly since you aren't dragging a big sals diff around.
The radiator blind might not be all that useful in summer unless you are crossing rivers regularly!
That bullbar has a fantastic approach angle, but when I had one I ended up with a few dents in the mudguards that could have been prevented by having the bar I now have (ARB/TJM style). Just something to keep in mind.

The Maxi stuff will be plenty strong enough for 35s, it's the clearance under the wheel arches that is limiting at stock height/stock flares

I will hopefully go to the next Perentie auction, will give you a call when they are announced
