			Clean MAP, amazing difference

My Deefa seemed a bit down on power towards the end of a trip up north recently. Reading the AULRO site, I came across a post by a member explaining how to clean the MAP unit in a TD5 Deefa (thanks Josh).
 http://www.aulro.com/afvb/1669310-post2.html
Did mine today and it made an incredible difference. Much, much better pulling power. http://www.aulro.com/afvb/images/smilies/smile.gif
If you own a TD5 and haven't cleaned the MAP sensor, I can't recommend it highly enough. Only took ten minutes and a can of electrical cleaner.
It'll be part of my regular 20,000km service schedule from now on.

					Hey Dan good to hear.
Have you got rid of the EGR? A whole lot of benefits there.
 Regards
 Robbo

Yes, Robbo, I took it off when I had the ECU chipped and did a couple of other mods. Big improvement overall but power was definitely down recently and the clean MAP sensor has made it better than ever. The TD5 motor seems to have a lot of potential.

Wack an allisport intercooler and 3' exhaust and watch it go.
Recently put an allisport performance intercooler in and boy what a difference that makes.

I'm going to clean that map sensor out.
 Thanks for the link.

I bought a second hand inter from the later model Deefa as it's a bit bigger and certainly made a big difference on a budget. Yes, a wider diameter exhaust pipe would be nice. Just wish my old one would wear out so I can justify replacing it!
