    Power reduction

MY07 Disco3 183k. A few weeks ago sudden temporary reduction in power unladen on moderate hill. Then no problem pulling 2.5 tonne van to Dargo.
This weekend recurrent momentary reduction of power moderately laden climbing limit-of-traction Billy Goat Bluff. Then did other climbs without trouble.
Pulling van home had recurrent temporary reduction of power climbing highway hills. Rested, turned off then had no further trouble.
At no time was there any warning light, black smoke or total loss of power.
Perhaps water or rubbish in fuel? Perhaps loss of turbo, but how would that happen intermittently? Perhaps computer but no warning.
    Suggestions welcome.

Have you noticed a change in fuel consumption, or an oily film throughout the engine bay? (Thinking hose developing a split)

Is DSC simply kicking in and reducing power? Have you got it turned off?

I had near identical symptoms with my 2009 D3 at 75k
It turned out to be a EGR valve that was on the way out.
After much research on other sites the trend is for these EGR valves to
Play up after the 80k mark. I got it replaced at LR dealer under warranty
Took about 4 hours labour and about $680 for the part. One side is harder
To access then the other so expect 6 hours labour if that is the side. I ended
Up doing both for piece of mind as i was heading to the Cape

    Thanks all.
Fuel consumption unchanged at 16.9 l/100k with 2.5t van.
Turbo hose? Been there but no smoke this time. No oily film.
May have been DSC on Billy Goat Bluff as I didn't always remember to turn it off.
Overall sounds very like EGRs which have never been touched.

Have you changed your fuel filter lately or if diesel, drained the water out if any using the drain at the bottom of fuel filter. If filter is blocked you will lose power under heavy load ie climbing hills etc. You may have got a bad lot of fuel on your trip.

185k with no EGR problems that's pretty amazing! I know where I'd be putting my money...... I investigated blanking them off as this is possible on d2's apparently but on D3 you will have permanent warning light on dash which will then mask any other faults connected to that fault light......
