    trailer plug

We have just got big red (2008 D3 ) and the previous owner has fitted autilux plug - and have removed both factory fit plugs,so i bought an adapator as a short term fix.
Big red has been fitted with a dual tire Kaymar bar and long rage tank so access is a bit limited .
I have no electric brake or tail light at the plug , i have checked the rear fuse any other ideas ?
PS cant get the permagrin off..

It should be a simple case of swapping out the old, for the new.

Any chance you could put up a photo of the offending plug (socket?)

    Ahhh ok.

So, it appears he has swapped out the large round, for a small round.

In theory, it should be a simple swap over. An alternative is an adaptor.

Your auto sparky will be able to sort that out for you.

    Cawal,
An easy fix to get back your original plugs, would be to ring Triumph Rovers Spares & get them to send you a plug or plugs depending on what you need. The plug screws into the chassis at the rear & plugs into the supply under the L/H rear tail light assembly.
Than can be your starting point to get back to normality.

Does the vehicle have trailer brakes fitted?
I personally would start from scratch. (p.s there is a write up of how to fit trailer brakes in this forum for a D3 specific-dont use the D4 one)

Any questions feel free to ask.

    Cheers

Thanks Sniegy, big red is having a sleep over at the auto elec's to get fixed
just going to replaced the smaller plug for a normal 7 pin as the other side has the Anderson plug fitted .Get all the plugs checked over to make sure of no surprise some where down the road.
Alas not a traxide kit ,doesn't look that neat so main reason to get it checked out now .
