    Failed Inner Door Seal

Has anyone had this happen ? The door seal has disintegrated Car is only 5 months old and I first noticed it about two weeks ago. I could see my butt hitting that part of the seal when entering the car however I would hope that this type of problem wouldn't happen due to that.

Any ideas before I refer to the dealer.

Issue on d3 as well - at 9 years old I'm on my third ! Easy to change and they should do it under warranty I'd think.

Lucky I'm a bloke - a woman would take offence at that Must ask my wife if my butt looks big in my jeans though For the record, my butt's not that big. I have my seat back as far as possible as I'm 6'2" (ok I'm oldish) and you brush against that seal quite easily on entry and exit. Now that I know about the delicate nature of the seal I'll be more careful in future.

Good to know it's covered by warranty.

I have had three new ones in my D3 and it needs another one now, it is a very poor design/quality.

I guess that says something about my butt

Mine has gone drivers side. I t has a lot to do with how you get out of the vehicle. I have side steps but still slide out the door.

Getting in the car I also tend to put my left leg in and slide into the seat rather than 'climb' in so I'm probably hitting it both ways.
