Modifications and Extended Warranties

I have a 2011 D4 TDV6 with the factory warranty running out in October. I've been doing a bit of research into the extended warranty offered by Allianz (both through LR and Platinum Direct).


My car has a fair few aftermarket mods on it (bullbar, winch, snorkel, LLAMs, aux tank, RWC etc) and there's a clause in the PDS that states


"We will not pay any claim arising directly or indirectly out of, or in any way connected with any mechanical failure attributed to a modification made to your vehicle, unless such modification has been endorsed by the vehicle manufacturer. Modified components must be disclosed on your application and are expressly excluded from cover".


My concern is that if push came to shove, they're not going to pay out on a claim, finding some way to attribute any issue to the mods.


Anyone else have any issues with getting an extended warranty for their modified D4?

I have Allianz extended warranty through LR. Just about to have noisy rear eDiff replaced under warranty no probs. My car has bar, snorkel,RWC, winch and long range tank. My dealer knew about all these mods as they had been servicing the car.
