That's it, my land cruiser days are now officially behind me. I've agreed to buy a D3, all going well I should pick it up wednesday. I reckon I got a reasonable deal as well and it's got all the fruit that I'd stick on apart from a front bar. So she's got a kaymar twin wheel carrier, long range tank, UHF, dual batts and winch. There's a couple of things I need to tidy up so it's too my liking, mainly some of the wiring requires neating up, both the plastic covers over the battery's could do with replacing and there's an external speaker for the UHF mounted on the b pillar near the drivers head. So that's got to move and I'll put a replacement trim panel on as the old on will have a few screw holes (personal hate of mine).

Any goood wreckers in Perth that have d3 parts for reasonable costs? Also I'm a big home mechanic so where is the best place to get hold of repair manuals - do land rover have printed versions available or is there PDF versions available online (like there's plenty available for land cruisers)

There is a link to manuals that may be suited to your needs on this website. I haven't used them so can't vouch for quality, accuracy, etc. but might just help you for little cost.

Called an LR3 Manuals Collection (even though the Aussie versions of the car are called D3) and the vast majority of it is in PDFs. Also says that it is sold for $18.50 so that is a bargain compared to standard LR dealers' charges per hour (us. $100+ ph - not that I have anything against dealers) <g>.

I can also supply a copy of the official service maintenance schedule in PDF if you want or you may prefer to search disco3.co.uk or aulro.com for it.

Thanks for that link. I failed to mention in my original post that it's a TDV6, sitting on 165,000 so I need to do the timing belt, but I cant do it straight away as im currently physically unable to do it due to a current injury. On the up side I have some time to order in all the required parts and special tools to get the job done

well done my cruiser mate just got a new sahara and my Disco rides better and doesn't need a step ladder to get in.(similar bits added as your new ride)
I have found lots of use full stuff here and on disco3 from the uk , so check out that site .
