    Impressed an Olde Farte

Old Mal,the mad greek who has his 2a army ambo here for surgery came for a drive in Snow White today.
He was blown away in how far Landys have evolved since his 1965 blood box.The smoothness, the feeling of acceleration, the juke box,and the fact that the thing was moving along at quite a speed and it felt like 60kmh.
Took him on a gravel road and said Im about to do an emergency stop at 120kmh,prepare yourself. He was speechless, says he has NEVER stopped so quickly in any vehicle on bitumen never mind gravel, also couldnt believe we stopped in a dead straight line.

When I took my 80 y.o. dad for a blast in mine he only had one question...

"Are you SURE it's a diesel?

Did you do it hands off ? One of Gordons tests for drivers on his GOE course, is to pull the handbrake on at 80kmh with hands off the steering wheel. I think everyone cheated with their fingers looped loosely around the steering wheel. The vehicle comes to a full stop in a straight line

I WAS going to try the emergency brake, put I chickened out.The salesman did point out how to use it during delivery.
A great option for the passenger if the driver is suffering a medical emergency.Shame is how many passengers would know its there, never mind the D4 owners that dont know

I did demonstrate it to my wife on a gravel road so if there was an emergency she knew what to do.
I think it is a good idea that both partners/passengers/alternate drivers know that. My wife rarely drives the D4, as she prefers her Golf, but does on occasions.

Ok folks..... can someone let me into the "emergency Stop" secret?....

Looked through the owners manual and can't find anything. Sounds like something I should know about....

Pull park brake on while on any surface.

Emergency braking stops car phenomenally fast and straight.

Have tried at 80kph on the power lines on GOE course, and bitumen at 100kph....you do need to be prepared for it.

    Thanks Brett,

That's what I was kind of guessing, but was hesitant to try based on a guess.

Looks like I have something new to go and try
