Go the cheaper option if you can!
Can someone in SA please tell me what rego category or cost for a GS. Not sure wether they get classified as a commercial cab chassis or cheaper to rego, station wagon.
Cheers

I wouldn't have said they were a cab/chassis. They have no separate tray. Station wagon or utility I'd have thought.
You haven't said which Perentie model you have.
The GS Cargo 110s, the FFR and Survey hardtop are Category NA Light Goods Vehicles. The Senior Commander and Carryall versions (5dr wagons) are Category MC Passenger 4wds, while the 6x6s are Category NB2 Medium Goods Vehicles.
These categories are relevant because they not only classify the vehicles for registration purposes, but also dictate which ADRs apply to the vehicle. It can also have a bearing on your insurance coverage. I don't think you can choose which class you can register the vehicle under to seek the best price.
He said GS in his first post
Don't own one, but considering chasing one when or if they have an auction in Adelaide. Not fussed about actual model, but it would be a 110 soft top. Rego for light commercial vehicles in SA is about $1060 vs $700ish for a wagon. Just curious which category they fall in.
At Leyland Brisbane all LR's other than station wagons were registered as utilities. Private use utilities were the cheapest category then.

I was wondering why you would need to ask when surely your Roads Authority website would list the classes and fees. Then I looked at the site:

Farouk! Is a Perentie classed as a Hovercraft or a Land Yacht?
