The tub floor in a 130.....

I assume the 'corrugated' nature of the floor is for strength but it's a ROYAL pain in the bum as it makes it harder to sweep out etc,

Has anyone made any changes to their tub floor at all?

I'm not even sure what I want to do - just throwing it out there....
It's not broken. It's "Carbon Neutral".

One mod I have been contemplating for many years is cut and shunting the mudguards by about 60mm each to enable a pallet to lay flat.
I have never quite got around to glueing polystyrene to the outside to check for wheel clearance.......

My tub has been fitted out for my business but I've built a false floor across the mud guards, with lids cut out for tool boxes around the wheel arches, I've got 100litres of water up against the head board and 350 litres of diesel in a stainless tank under the false floor. I've also had roll bars/ladder racks custom made.. All up it was the same price as a steel tray and plastic diesel tank, but has the weight down low and keeps the HCPU tub

    G'Day mate,

The tub on my 2a was severely knocked about, with heavily corroded cross floor supports.

I decided on a complete rebuild, everything was replaced with the exception of side panels and and the bulkhead at the rear of the seats.

The cross bearers were replaced with 50X25mm RHS stainless, secured to 50X50 x6mm tee section longitudinal, aluminium members.

The floor was replaced with 3 mm aluminium plate, and the mudguards/tool boxes, refabbed from 16guage aluminium. These will be accessed via locker doors, fitted to the outside side panels.

The original floor was only 16gauge so the new floor is double the thickness.

    Regards,

    Norm.
