    Coolent leak Td5

    A little while ago I bought an almost complete set of coolent hoses from a forum member. I thought I'd replace them just for piece of mind. The only hose I didn't replace was the small three inch hose under the exhaust manifold.
    Well three guesses which hose let go in Young today...........yep! Just goes to show how important a walk around in the morning is!!! So a big thanks to the staff at Repco Young for sourcing a suitable hose. They rang Land Rover and where told 3 days. We are touring at the moment so that would have been a hassle. They got a suitable replacement from a bloke in town. I stripped it down in the street out side Repco and fitted the hose. Filled a bled the system. All good in under 2 hours including waiting for the hose.
    So far in 10 days I've had to fix the hose,reglue the passenger side mirror back in and fix a rear diff cover leak. This bloody thing gets more attention than my kids ever got!

    Yes that pesky PBH101980 hose catches lots of people by surprise, usually in the worst possible circumstances!

    Good thing you noticed it in time!

    In a pinch, a Ford Falcon XE/XF 4.1 6cyl heater hose can be cut down to fit, it has the flared end and about 3 feet of pipe travelling back to the heater inlet on the firewall, or the inlet manifold on the XF. The part number and illustration are;

    Hi Jc

    I have heard about several people that have removed that hose by blocking of the outlet in the oil cooler and re routing the else where??

    Is there any benefit to this ??

    Cheers

    no need to re-route, just block it off and the expansion bottle end,

    you need to remove the EGR valve first as this pipe is used for the EGR cooler
