Depending on how their policy is worded you may be stuck non-genuine.
Note that you'll need the fitting kit (OEM).
Windscreen should be like for like - meet the same specifications... If it doesn't you may have some grounds there..
Got a stone through my windscreen. My insurance has a free glass in my policy. company won't cough up for a proper landrover windscreen. What do I do, how to get proper windscreen what are your experiences. O6 D3 SE non heated

My insurer did a similar thing so after much discussion I obtained a genuine screen and they gave me what they would have paid for their chinese screen and fitting ... PITA but one chinese screen was quite enough for me ... "reading the fine print fail" on my part.
Mine did not accept that their chinese screen was not to the specification of Pilkington Optikool ... which seems self evident but anyway I lacked energy to pursue that as I was semi content with the ultimate outcome.
Got crack in mine which grow as I watched it. Called the dealer and the replacement was over $1,500. The insurers insisted on using a well known replacement company that wanted to use a Chinese heated screen. After discussion in the end I decided to just pay the money as i didn't want cury lines in the screen. The insurance co said I'd have to pay the difference - over $1,000. I submitted the claim - and without a mention to me - paid the whole lot. How about that!
Do you have auto wipers???
If so you may be in luck.
I recently ordered a windscreen for our prime mover at work, they said if it has rain sensors it will need to be a genuine screen.Truck doesnt,we dont have free windows at work, and they seem to bust 3 a year so its aftermarket.
GOODLUCK

We've recently been through something similar trying to get the screen in my grand fathers D4 replaced (it's a country car), insurance replaced it with non-genuine through O'Briens. As a result the auto wipers ceased to work... Quite a few phone calls were exchanged with both Land Rover and the insurer, the result was that they had to replace it with a genuine pilkington screen and associated parts. No problems since.
We had to source the genuine screen too... costs were covered.
Not as easy as dealing with the old D2's
Rain sensor is up where the mirror mounts on my D4,looks to be in the glass.

Hi Ade,
I had an after market windscreen fitted by o'briens under insurance 3 years ago and it's been fine. No curvy glass and now has about a dozen chips in it so I'll probably be replacing it again. The rear window is a completely different story, even they guys who fit the rears will tell you not to fit after market as they don't fit properly and on corrugated road have a tendency to fall out or crack.
Mine has the auto sensing wipers
regards
Brian
