Thanks Terry, can you supply some more information for us all please.
What was the economy before the injector change and how much did the injectors cost you in parts and fitting charge?
Well a couple of tanks of fuel since having new injectors fitted to the D3 and I can report that the average fuel economy has actually improved dramatically to 9.2 litres per hundred which I am very happy with. Also the engine is smoother and quieter. Previously it was running very lean on several cylinders because the injectors were blocking up.
It's not an inexpensive repair to have done, but more importantly then economy if it prolongs the life of the engine which it should do then it is money well spent.
Cheers,
Terry

2014 SDV6 HSE - LLAMS, Tuff Ant Tree Sliders, Tuff Ant 18" rims, Nitto Ridge Grappler tyres 265/65 R18, Custom Lipo4 battery, Custom Drawer storage system https://www.box.com/s/jem0ilac3cner2mexq64
Its a bit hard to say exactly as I didn't do many kilometres on the AT3's after swapping back from the larger KM2's before having the job done. But with the KM2's fitted it was around 13 litres per hundred. ...
I only did one tank on the AT3's and that worked out at about 12 litres per hundred, seriously the economy was crap.
How much? It was a last minute decision to do it prior to Christmas so I did not shop around. I bought the injectors from a mob in WA on eBay for $475 each and it cost around $1200 to have them fitted at a LR dealer as they were the only ones who could get it done prior to Christmas on such short notice.
If I had waited and shopped around chances are I could have had it done for less.
One thing to be aware of, if your engine is hard to start on cold mornings then that is usually a sign of blocked injectors, mine got to the stage it was hard to start and wouldn't idle properly in summer let alone cold mornings.

Terry

Just out of curiosity, had you been running any injector cleaner/fuel additive to the car ?
The injectors had always been a bit blocked since I brought the D3 back in 2010. So the problem just got worse over time.
I did for a few months add 2-stroke oil to the fuel, which apart from making engine run quieter didn't really achieve much else. From memory I did try injector cleaner once early on to no avail. Everything I read was that on modern diesels injector cleaner is a waste of time and money so I never tried it again.
Cheers,
Terry
