A ride in a Play Doh

My last task at the Boddington Fires was to have a ride in a near brand new PrayDoo to inspect one of our Shire roads and sign off on it as to be safe to re-open.The steerer was a fly in helper from the NT,a hell of a nice bloke I will add.
When we met I told him I cant get in that piece of crap my Godz will excomunicate me.Poor fellow was totally bamboozled.
We did the inspection, loved the cramped cab, harshness of the auto tranny, engine noise, uncomfortable passenger chair.
He tells me he has the same praydoo as a company vehicle in the NT and they are about to change over to gut luxes.I started laughing. He says you arent a toyota man obviously what do you have? Told him a brand new D4.I copped you Landy lovers are all the same,my boss in the NT just bought a brand new Discovery.
His name is Steele if anybody in the NT works with him

I've driven a prado, I quite liked it, it was a manual though(I like manuals) was it as nice as our D4, no, not even close, actually I found the Pajero to be the closest in comfort and road noise to the D4.

But still the Prado is not a bad car to drive, if Land Rover didn't have the stigma it has for whatever reason, reliability, fear of electrics, customer service then more people would probably buy them, but having said that, of coarse there's brand loyalty, just like landy owners, toyota has their loyal followers.

Good thing you didn't come for a drive up here yesterday Andrew.

There was a 150 Playdo parked in my back yard in front of the Disco all afternoon. Very well kitted out one too.

A mate of mine I hadn't seen for a while dropped round .............. it was either going to be the Playdo or his Harley .................. but he wanted to know how to wire up a second battery in the Playdo (have given him Drivesafe's contact details).
    Cheers .........

We hired one last Easter at Uluru for two weeks rather than drive up from Sydney. It was a boring yet perfectly capable vehicle, sadly let down quite badly by the factory tyres which were very road-biased. The size was also something I couldn't get used to (compared to a 90!). The Prado is huge in comparison!

I just thought bad visibility out of the front window full stop. I'd hate to be doing any sort of slow twisting tracks 4wding in one. The disco's are a far superior view from the front and just the thing for a 4wd

The Prados are screaming out for a V6 diesel. That old clunker of a D4D really lets it down compared to the competition, especially the Disco.
