Defender 110 Side Steps

Missus is pregnant and having difficulty with getting into the 110. As it is our main daily drive, I need to fix this asap. I have tried to sell her the idea of rock sliders, so they serve a purpose well after the baby is born. She isn't taking the bait. She wants a proper step that she can trust not slipping on.

She wants a proper side step that is lower than the sill. Can anyone please recommend a side step, that is stronger than the LR factory option.

Spend $10 on a plastic stool while she is pregnant, save your coin for sliders that don't affect your ground clearance. Odd concept to jump out of the truck for a few months but it will pay off in the long run.. Temporary versus permanent.

She drives it whilst I am at work. A plastic stool won't work. Thought of that.

The steps will be useful for the next couple of years at least whilst she has to strap the baby in to the baby seat etc. Won't be a waste of coin. Will be able to sell them at a later date if need be.

A rock slider will be ideal, it just had to be below the sill and we wide enough so she doesn't lose her footing.

not sure but save the money for fitting CRAB or anchor points for the kid's seat. My wife test drove the 110 after giving birth to our second and found it easier to reach into back seats to place kids (by comparison to stooping in to a nissan maxima).

Looks like ill go with the heavy duty Landybitz steps. They are pretty much what I need, a cross between a step and a rock slider. Spoke to Justin and he was very helpful. Thanks for your responses.

Hi Dave , I have " Kingsley Sideboards " They are lower than the sills , have a sort of sand paper type strip , for grip . They are made from aluminum , and , with steel brackets . There not as strong as rock sliders , but then again there designed as side steps . They will protect your truck from car park damage , and they work fine off road . They make It so much easter to get in and out !!.. Jim
