    Ride-On Lawn Mower Parts Suppliers?

    Hello All,

This message does not fit the Land Rover Parts wanted so I hope someone will look at it under General Chat!

Would anyone on the forum be a Ride-on Lawn Mower Parts supplier?

I am after the Steering Sector Gear - the plate which has the teeth that the steering wheel worm bites into. The part looks vaguely similar to one in the photograph. On my mower the hole at the top left corner of the photograph has a raised collar welded to the plate.

My steering sector gear plate sans teeth is shown in the second photograph

It is for a Rover Rancher Autodrive Ride On It may have been made in 2008 (?)

    Model Number: 28169/180
Serial Number: 5057184. The engine is 13 hp.

Well you never know your luck in the big city!

    Kind Regards
    Lionel

If you don't like trucks, stop buying stuff.

    Hello.

Tough one. Rover was purchased by MTD USA some time back and to my knowledge any parts for the good old made in Brisbane Rover equipment is no more ... Unless you can find a dealer with new old stock. Rover product of today is nothing like it used to be (PRC made).

I'll see if I can turn up anything for you via my industry associates ... We were never a Rover dealer, and elected not to take on MTD !

I'll get back to you ...

A10432 - steering sector shaft . Keep in mind my version is the 1998 version . Same unit but Made in Qld .
I have been out the game for a couple of years , but try an old school country mower shop .
    Good luck !

    Thanks

    Hello Mower enthusiasts,

I am still waiting for the telephone call back from the local authorised agents.... still waiting ...

I took Plan B and did an internet search that turned up another "authorised agent" in town. They reckon they have the part on back order as their regular schedule of stocking of spares. They did not mention how long it has been on back order for ... They should let me know how they go by next Friday.

The mower is okay to use as long as I only steer straight ahead or towards the right while going forward! Or in reverse on full right lock until it finally points in the correct direction and I only move the steering from right full lock to the centre while going forward again.

    Kind Regards
    Lionel

A bit of delicate work with a welder and grinder might get you back on the grass.

    Hello Dave,

Thanks for the tip. The cost of a new part - if one is available at this stage, would work out more economical. While I do have a grinder I would have to find someone with a welder and pay them for their time.

    Kind Regards
    Lionel
