    A Difficult Post to Write

A post I have been reluctant to write... I have just listed my P38 in the For Sale section. I had been preparing it bit by bit (whether needed or not!) for the "big trip"...well "a" big trip.. but sudden changes in health (ain't that the way) and family circumstances have forced a realistic change of direction. SWMBO has been a great supporter and when we sought something smaller and lighter, she was quite keen on the Freelander.

We went looking for 2014/MY2015 but they wanted silly money even for base models with decreased warranty. In the end we settled on a Hyundai Santa Fe (Elite) with the 2.2L CRD (145Kw /436Nm).

So I have joined the ranks of the non descript lookalikes. It's noice to drive and SWMBO can handle it . She regularly drove the P38 including with camper trailer in tow, some 800km up the PRD to the Cape a few years ago and loved how solid it is ..but it's now too heavy for her.

I have taken much comfort over the past years in the camaraderie and good will of this forum and will continue to "hang around"! My well-worn LandRover cap is not part of the sale!!

You are really all a very special bunch of P38 tragics! Am proud to be part of it!

    cheers

I bet that was a hard decision to make, but in all honesty, enjoy the Santa Fe. Our neighbour has one and loves it to bits. But, don't forget there is a different car for every stage of your life, so with a bit of luck your next car will have a green oval on it!

Yes, very hard call to make, but times change and you have to move with them.
Good luck with the new ride and please do check in from time to time, you have a lot of first hand P38 knowledge that will continue to help those in need!
    All the best Hoges.

Hoges. Thanks for all the support and help during your P38 years. At least life with a santa fe should be more predictable. Hope you get a great result from the sale.

Sad to hear mate, as you say though, time to change for necessity.

You've been an amazing help over the years and I'm sure there will be more to come.

    Best of luck mate!

X2 with the other sentiments, you will be greatly missed! Family and health need to come before any car so I wish you well in your new Santa Fe adventures. And just think when you visit grandkids they will be very excited that Santa has arrived.....just remember to pack some presents

Thanks once again for your help and guidance to a few curley p38 problems over the past few years.....it's been really appreciated!
