I think so. The special effects might be clunkier at times, but the scripts are certainly more intelligent and the acting is far superior.

    I think your nuts!
Personally I think its an age thing, I was a kid in the late 70's early 80's, star wars was huge, action figures and all! Kind of like KISS

If you are talking William Shatner, Leonard Nimoy and DeForest Kelley then its Star Trek - hands down. It all went downhill from there.

Definitely, although Picard was also excellent.

I believe Star Trek was much better than Star Wars. I never understood all the hype around Star Wars, even to this day. But even better that Star Trek was the original (first season) of Space 1999. Loved that show.

This should have been in CA. Religion and politics pale to insignificance compared to the Star Wars/Star Trek debate.

    I love them both.

I see Star Wars as a damned good western. Good guys, bad guys, bars and gunfights. Purely entertainment. In this, it does it exceptionally well.

For me Star Trek makes you think. It tackles big issues in a space opera format. Think about it. You wouldn't think an American show about a community of people work for knowledge and the betterment of society not for financial gain and are fed, clothed and housed by the state would be accepted in America.

I’m pretty sure the dinosaurs died out when they stopped gathering food and started having meetings to discuss gathering food

A bookshop is one of the only pieces of evidence we have that people are still thinking

Star Trek is just a bunch of commie atheists hooning around the galaxy. I managed to get both politics and religion into that sentence....now for sexism. My favourite Vulcan by far is the female lead T'pol in the TV show Enterprise which is the prequel series about the very first starship Enterprise. They didn't even have transporter technology.

On the other hand, Star Wars has a certain force about it.
