So hard to find good tray back ute 300tdi!!

I have been looking to replace my old F truck ute that I use for fixing my rental houses up. I have seen loads of nice looking 300tdi's sold privately thousands of Km's away, nothing seems to come up sensibly priced close by. It seems if it is thousands of Km's away loads of low km trucks go for 10-16 grand with loads of extras and seemingly well looked after. If it is close by then I keep seeing stuff close to 500,000km for 25k!!!!! Err I dont think so!
I have seen a few nice looking wagons but that is typical as I need a ute, sods law I guess.
Maybe in Queensland utes get more of a flogging I dont know but there seems to be quite a few heaps of junk for sale here.
Anyone want to sell me their pride and joy?
I was going to get a Perentie, but I am now looking for something which can double as a second car so fuel consumption is more an issue.

Are there any in Vic that float your boat? Have you priced transport?
I bought a car in Brisbane because it was what I wanted. Had it trucked down.

I'd widen the search area and be prepared to freight it up or fly/drive and have an adventure.

If you spot anything in Adelaide, I'm happy to take a look.

Good 300TDis cost more than you'd think is right and bad ones will cost you more than you think is fair (to fix).

Thanks much appreciated I will widen the search then for sure.
I did think about interstate, but so many cars look online, but a heap when you see them for real and it would be a pain in the butt to fly interstate to see a car that is total junk.
I dont mind paying for a really really good one, but over 20k for half a million clicks is way too much IMO.
    Thanks again

I have a 300 steel heavy duty tray with 272kms on clock. In Adelaide.

Have done steering box, rad, water pump, HD clutch, pinions seals, serviced front swivel hubs - refurbed one, new turner performance head, new pads all round, new front rotors, bottom engine rebuild 10kms ago, rebuilt r380, rebuilt trans case, had Welsh plug replaced behind water pump, new larger intercooler, resprayed 4 years ago, wrangler MTR's Kevlar 265's 85% tread (great tires), new clutch master cylinder and a lot more odds and ends. Oils changed out regular( just did difs, trans, gear box, engine). Engine is clean as a whistle. Has done 4000km since refurbs of driveline. 1500 since new head/intercooler.

Just drove 1300kms to Adelaide from ACT and didn't miss a beat.

Got it for 13000, spent about 15000 on it. I would take 20k but no less as it's into me too much. Get new 90 in Feb so would part with it but prob regret later lol.

    Another option to consider is;

    british-4x4-auto

Brendan knows his Landys and would put any Adelaide car you might be considering on his hoist to take a good look at it. In my experience his pricing is more than reasonable and you can usually book a car in with him relatively easily.

Would you say this would be the best rover mechanic around Adelaide? I'm new here and need someone dependable for future reference.

    Thanks

    Any pics?
I have been looking for a while as I want a really good example. 20k is a lot really, but I suppose it depends on condition. Not too worried if it is 4 door or two both have advantages and disadvantages. I want something reliable that I can use daily for farm and my rental repairs.
    Thanks
    Chris
