    Ex box Query (TD5)

    Howdy,

Recently i purchased a Mulgo Ex Box off a friend who got it for a Td5, but later purchased a PUMA.

Looking at the box and comparing it to the pictures on Mulgo's website and instructions there seems to be some differences. I have read through the instructions and i am somewhat confused on how the box is installed. As you removed the metal plate from below the cuddy box, does the box sit in this hole? I imagine that the box would get quite hot, and become an over the the electronics inside. Has anyone installed a small 12v fan on the back of the box?

Yes you take the plate off and fit the ExBox straight over the hole.

Yes I would assume this gets hot, I have quizzed Daniel from Mulgo on this, he fits plenty off them and guarantees it's not a problem.

I have fitted both heat shield to the underneath and a fan to the rear of my ExBox.

I used to have my CB inside along with the computer stuff and it was getting quite hot, hence the addition of the fan. I have since relocated the CB and the ExBox runs sufficiently cool now.

I will also add some Dynamat to the inside in the future just because I can. It will quieten things down a smidge more and no doubt keep another bit of heat out.
